About the name

Why dispatchers started calling it DAT Ninja.

Loadboard Ninja runs on every major load board — Truckstop, TruckSmarter, the broker portals, all of them. But for most of our users, the daily reality is DAT. They sit in DAT One eight hours a day. So when they recommended the extension to friends, they shortened it: "Just install the DAT Ninja, it'll change your life." We heard it enough times on Facebook groups and r/Truckers that we decided to embrace the nickname rather than fight it.

Is DAT Ninja the same as Loadboard Ninja?
Yes. The product is officially Loadboard Ninja by NinjaTMS, but dispatchers running it on the DAT load boards day in and day out started calling it DAT Ninja and the name stuck. Same Chrome extension, same install, same login.
Which DAT products does the extension work with?
DAT One. DAT consolidated its older products (DAT Power, DAT Express, and TruckersEdge) into DAT One, so DAT One is what dispatchers actually use today and what the extension is built for. Subscription products that sit alongside DAT One — DAT RateView, DAT Assurance, broker credit scores — keep working untouched on top of the extension.
Is the DAT extension free?
Yes. The Chrome extension is free to install and free to use. No credit card, no trial timer, no feature throttling on individual accounts. Team-collaboration features (shared notes, shared booked-load history, dispatcher assignment) unlock when your organization has a NinjaTMS account.
Will it conflict with DAT RateView?
No. The extension layers on top of whatever DAT subscription tier you have. RateView numbers, lane history, broker credit, and DAT Assurance status all continue to render exactly as DAT serves them. We add the map, RPM math, and team notes — we don't replace DAT's own pricing data.
Does it slow down DAT One?
No. The extension activates only on DAT One (and the other load boards you opt into), runs asynchronously, and does no background polling on tabs you aren't using. DAT One's search-and-filter speed is unaffected.
What about DAT Power and TruckersEdge — I used to use those?
DAT retired them as separate products and rolled their features into DAT One. If you had a DAT Power or TruckersEdge subscription before the consolidation, you're using DAT One now (possibly with the same logins). The extension works on DAT One out of the box.
How is the DAT extension different from DAT's own tools?
DAT publishes great pricing and credit data. They don't publish maps with deadhead, real-time RPM math, team-shared notes per load, or pre-filled broker email templates. The extension fills in those gaps so a dispatcher can evaluate, math out, and respond to a DAT load without leaving the page.
Why do people call it DAT Ninja?
Dispatchers who use it on DAT all day every day started calling it that on driver forums and in Facebook groups years ago — "Loadboard Ninja" felt too broad when they were really just describing their DAT One experience. We embraced it.
